Created using dyed werregue palm fibers in rich tones of black, red, and natural beige, the design features concentric rings and alternating triangular panels—an optical rhythm that evokes both movement and ancestral balance.
This bowl represents more than a decorative object. In the Embera and Wounaan communities of Colombia’s Chocó region, werregue weaving is a revered practice passed down through generations. Every line, curve, and stitch is loaded with cultural significance—from spiritual protection to the cycles of life. The bold patterns are achieved through painstaking coiling and tight stitching, using natural dyes and sustainably harvested materials.
