Compact yet commanding, the Guardian of the Sky Mask showcases a fierce eagle motif layered with cultural duality and ancestral elegance. Carved from wood by skilled artisans in Chiapas, this mask features a split face design — one side painted in warm ochres with Mesoamerican geometric markings, the other bare wood with skeletal detailing — symbolizing the balance between earthly presence and spiritual ascension.
The crown, shaped into a sharp-beaked eagle with feather textures and small circular accents, reinforces the bird's role as a celestial messenger and protector. Delicate blue and green detailing on the ears and sides provide visual rhythm and accentuate the mask’s handcrafted precision.
