Desert Skull Holder

Desert Skull Holder by Omar Hernandez is a bold fusion of form and texture, crafted in homage to the rugged symbolism of Oaxacan folk art. The outer surface is studded with rows of raised ceramic skulls—each individually formed—emulating the tough, spiny skin of a cactus or an ancestral ritual object. This raw exterior is balanced by a striking cobalt-blue glazed interior, smooth and glossy, like a hidden sanctuary within the tough shell. More than a functional holder, this is a sculptural piece that speaks to duality: life and death, exterior and interior, tradition and innovation. It stands confidently on its own but can be used as a vessel, votive holder, or small planter for curated interiors with character.
